INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Understanding Yourself, Finding Your Way Forward

There are times in life when we know we're struggling, but don't quite understand why.

You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, low or stuck. Perhaps you understand some of your patterns but still find yourself repeating them. You may be struggling with relationships, confidence, self-worth, difficult emotions or experiences from the past.

Sometimes there isn't one obvious reason. You may simply feel that something isn't right and want a space to understand what is happening.

Therapy offers an opportunity to slow things down, make sense of your experiences and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

You don't have to know exactly what's wrong before you begin.

What Can Therapy Help With?

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry or feeling overwhelmed
  • Low mood or loss of motivation
  • Stress or difficulty managing emotions
  • Low self-worth or self-criticism
  • Difficulties in relationships
  • Repeated patterns that you don't understand
  • Life changes, uncertainty or feeling stuck
  • Difficult or painful past experiences
  • Problems with confidence or finding your voice
  • Difficulties adjusting to change
  • Questions about identity, purpose or direction
  • Challenges connected with neurodiversity
  • Difficulties within your marriage or relationship

Sometimes the difficulty is clear. Sometimes it is harder to put into words.

Either way, therapy can provide a place to begin.

A Space to Understand What's Beneath the Surface

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on the person, their needs and what we are exploring together.

I am interested not only in what you are experiencing now, but also in understanding what may be contributing to it.

This might include looking at your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, past experiences and the ways you have learned to respond to yourself and the world around you.

I don't believe there is one approach that works for everyone.

Therapy should be shaped around the person, rather than the person having to fit the therapy.

My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do. It is to work alongside you as you begin to understand yourself more deeply and consider what you might want to change.

Approaches I May Draw From

My work is informed by a number of therapeutic approaches. We may draw on one approach more strongly than another depending on what feels most relevant to you.
